Founded in 1914 by the present owners grandfather Thomas Groocock, Padders is still a family owned and run in the heartland of the British footwear industry, Northamptonshire.
Initially making traditional welted shoes, the company has seen many changes over the years. It made utility boots for the war effort, and in the 50’s and 60’s made ‘beetle-crushers’ and ‘winkle-pickers’ and on to platform shoes in the 70’s.
But it was in 1982 that the Padders brand was established, to meet a more mature market, and the company has honed their skills to produce shoes that offer exceptional comfort and support.
Padders are now sold in over 1,000 stores in Europe.
